Transparency (How the Money Works)

How the Money Works — Workers’ Rebellion

Workers’ Rebellion is a startup, and pretending otherwise — promising big charitable numbers before there’s a business to fund them — would be exactly the kind of asterisk we said we’d never hide behind. So the money works in phases, and we tell you which one we’re in.

Phase 1 Current

Recoup Startup Costs

Net revenue goes toward paying back what’s already gone into building this: LLC formation, licensing, trademark filing, web hosting, domain registration, SSL certification, tool subscriptions, and the operational costs required to launch. The software itself was built without a separate development budget; it cost time and testing, not outside developers. Nothing moves to the next phase until this is cleared.

Phase 2

Sustain the Founder

Once startup costs are recouped, revenue supports the person running this full-time, so the business is sustainable enough to keep existing.

Phase 3

R&D / Expansion

Revenue funds new offerings, shaped by what customers tell us, plus the testing and development costs that come with growing.

Phase 4

Profit Sharing with Charity Partners

Once the business is self-sustaining and growing, formal profit-sharing with partner organizations begins. I keep no more than 50% of profits, and the rest is shared among the partner organizations that agree to take part. Nothing is disbursed until the partner pool can provide each partner a meaningful minimum amount, which we share directly with prospective partners.

What We Commit To

Transparency Commitment

Every quarter, we publish which phase we’re currently in. Once we reach the later phases, we intend to publish the numbers and progress behind them every quarter as well.

Optional Direct Donations & Phase 4 Partnership

Visit our Aligned Charitable Organizations page to see groups whose missions align with Workers’ Rebellion values. Every link goes directly to the organization’s own website — we never touch or hold direct donations.

Phase 4 involves formal profit-sharing: I keep no more than 50% of profits, and the rest is shared among the partner organizations that agree to take part. Nothing is disbursed until the partner pool can provide each partner a meaningful minimum amount, which we share directly with prospective partners. Outreach to the listed organizations has been completed, and we’re waiting to hear back. No partnerships exist, and nothing is owed to anyone, until Phase 4 agreements are signed.

No Opt-Outs on the Partner List

Once Phase 4 giving begins, you cannot veto specific partner organizations from that pool. If you cannot live with the full list, there are plenty of other options out there.

Payment & Policy Notes

All payments run through third-party processors (PayPal and WooPayments, which uses Stripe). We do not accept cryptocurrency or NFTs. Their volatility and pseudo-anonymity make them a playground for fraud and criminal enterprise, and we want no part of that.

Where This Is Headed

See Core Value #04 for why no cherry-picking applies to the partner list, and the full manifesto for what we intend to fund once Phase 4 arrives.
